Commentary Supposing Books Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants / Second Summer of the Sisterhood / Girls in Pants (Sisterhood #1-3)
These books were great and I am waiting for the fourth book to come out...(as well as the second movie). Just an all around great story about four girls who share a lifelong friendship and many adventures together. The action never stops..lol It kind of reminds me of the kind of things that Judy Blume might write about. It was a nice change of pace in my classics collection (young adult series). Sure it has its real life lessons about growing up and dealing with change but it was just a plain wholesome "good read" at its finest. You didn't put these books down with a heavy heart, just a big smile...wondering what will happen next summer in "THE PANTS". It kind of reminded me of Joyelle, Alana Jen and Ginny if you just changed the names of the girls in the story a bit:)....What to read next....hummmmm. I will have to consult my list. This is a hard act to follow. You can bet that any book that I am reading will be put down when book 4 comes out!!!!!!!

Wow, I just listened to these on audio this summer and I have to say they were much better the second time around. Maybe these are the types of books that sound better read aloud. Or maybe I was just jaded last time, expecting teeny bopper dribble.Easy read of fun young girls and their adventures over the summer. I truly enjoy reading silly books that don't cause you to think too hard about the different levels of the meaning of life. Although if you wanted to be deep you could come up with a few "deep thoughts" the book is trying to teach.

A fun story of friendship and staying connected that girls of many ages can enjoy.
At first I really liked these books, but then it started to bother me how alot of the stories are the same. They fall in love, realize themselves or something... it's like, how many times can you realize yourself? I say once. But anyway, it also bothered me how I have to wait so long for the story of each girl, like how their stories are broken up so much. But I had to give it three stars because I originally liked them soo much.
Kind of strange....but really good and funny....i feel bad for lena though. kostos is a horrid person. hmph
i always find myself reading these every winter. they are definately high school girl books, but i find the honesty in the characters intriguing. i find the girls empowering. plus, the setting is summer and when it's 20 below outside there's nothing better than pretending you're in the heat of mexico and italy...or just working at your summer job.
