A. Drew is a happily married Turkish Australian writer. She writes paranormal, contemporary romance, including LGBT. She also writes supernatural thriller.Once upon a long time ago, when the gods still ruled the Earth, vulture shifter Barbatus lived with a small group of exiled shifters in a very hostile area somewhere in Anatolia; they take on the form of birds, goats and other animals. A good read with an interesting plot and well done characters.

What a sweet love story embedded in mythology and Anatolian culture. The author did a wonderful job depicting this culture--from her descriptions of a traditional breakfast table to local clothing, the salwar--- as well as the local relationships of this small community. This wasn't your classic couple, with Barbatus being the shy guy and Aylin, the experienced woman trying to survive the memories and prejudices associated with a horrid past. I enjoyed this book from the beginning till the end.
A multicultural fantasy romance loaded with vivid imaginative scenes.
This book is not my usual read but I loved it. Drew exhales warmth and beauty in every line. The protagonist is broken in several ways, mistreated, humiliated, rejected. She never gives up, rebuilds herself, starts a new life. Young and strong Barbatus is a pillar character who carries the main thread. He symbolizes the strength and confidence of our lovely heroine (because she is, after all) needs to follow through and face her own enemies. The love between them is epic and unbreakable. Amazing
