Critique Out Of Books Case Closed, Vol. 2 (名探偵コナン [Meitantei Conan] #2)
This manga series is somewhat easier for me to read than most, because I have little difficulty telling who's who. The protagonist is a high-school-age student who's been shrunk to the size of a first-grader. While he tries to figure out how to undo the potion, he continues to help solve crimes. It's mildly entertaining and at times rather funny.

Jimmy is still stuck shrunk (say that 5 times fast), and is attending grade school. Richard Moore gets a job following someone(A Lucrative Tailing Job) which turns into a murder case in which the suspect has photographic proof of his alibi (The Perfect Alibi, The Photo Speaks). Jimmy gets a new toy from Doc Asagwa and Richard gets a new case to find a wayward father for a young woman (The Missing Man). As always, the case leads to murder and the young woman goes missing (The Poor Girl). Richard

I really liked this sequel to the first book and recommend it for anybody who is not that great at ready or likes looking at pictures in books.

Quick thoughts: Much better than the first volume. While my general issues with the setup/treatment are still here, seeing Conan in different situations and having the investigations overshadow the clueless secondary character antics helps a lot. I still don't see myself in this for the long haul, but it'll likely be enjoyable for a while.

*3.75*The cases in volume two were is interesting. I liked the second one. And the black cloak gang thingy appeared sooner than I thought! I can't wait to see what Conan and his elementary friends get into in volume 3. But still. That case with the robbery? Loved it.

We get the introduction to Conan's new schoolmates and more insight into the Black Syndicate.

4 of 5 stars----- Chapters 010-019Favorite Case: Mysterious Shadow CaseIf I were to choose my most favorite among the three cases in this volume, it has to be the Mysterious Shadow Case. Having to crack the criminal's perfect alibi will always be one of the most fun cases in Detective Conan. As as reader, you knew who the criminal was from the beginning and the only problem was to break his perfect alibi. Because not all of us are as keen as Conan, we tend to overlooked the most obvious clue.
