Slow reading. But enjoyable all the same. It has a lot of descriptions and historical details, which makes it even more interesting.
Excelente libro !!! Narra una época turbulenta sin dramatismo ni golpes bajos. La volveré a leer porque la disfrute mucho.
El talento narrativo de Lin Yutang despliega la vida de personajes muy opuestos (el joven millonario Yao Poya, el budista viudo Lao Peng y la adorable Tsui Ma Lin), a quienes la Guerra China conecta, marca e influye en sus futuras decisiones. Detallista, prolija y, sobre todo, muy humana, su lectura paciente lleva a adentrarse en un capÃtulo doloroso del siglo XX.
