I would highly recommend this book to anyone who appreciates artful prose, excitement, and romance!!!As I remember from my history lessons, literacy was not a priority to the nobles in the 15 or early 16th century, so needles to say, the "tutor" idea surprised me right off the start. I also doubt that in those ages a small cluster of happy and comfortable about their masculinity men could have lived long enough to enjoy themselves and prosper at the same time. However, there are plenty of books out there that are written with less consideration for history or plain old logic (I can name names,
I didn't care for this as much as the Assasin books, primarily because I didn't really connect much with main character. I'd much rather read a book about Sir Nickolas and his lovely blacksmith. That said, it was reasonably entertaining.

Climbing inside this book was easy Getting out was hard! Whew! What a book hanger. Now, the next time I climb inside this lovely descriptive book, I must remember to bring a sword so that I may slice off you know whos head. This was a vivid book.Graphic, bloody and a simply beautifully crafted world. The characters were stunning. The pacing was grand. The writing style sine and IMO it easily allow a person inside. There was one scene that wasnt for me but, overall I adored this read..
My first experience with this author and I'm sorry to say the story didn't work for me. The overall writing was good, but the plot, and especially the ending was incongruous considering the time and setting of this historical. I do plan on giving the other novels by this author a go as they come highly recommended.
I loved this book. It's so romantic! It is completely different from everything I've read so far. The search for true love makes two men to rethink their way of life. One proud and determined not to make their inclinations even if it's well known. The other wants to be all too idealistic for his beloved Sir Ben.A aHistory worth reading and fantastically written.
Really excellent read - with great writing and a juicy plot. It has all the reader could wish for!
