Rendition During Books The Attributes of God: A Journey Into the Father's Heart (The Attributes of God #1)

God's Infinitude, Immensity, Goodness, Justice, Mercy, Grace, Omnipresence, Immanence, Holiness, Perfection all answer, what is God like? For A.W. Tozer, there is no question more important. In fact, Tozer's desire to know God and His fullness consumed his entire life and ministry.

Originally preached as sermons at Southside Alliance Church in Chicago, this first volume of The Attributes of God examines ten attributes of God. A study guide has been added for an in depth look at each attribute. This all important book deals with the most important subject matter of God's traits. We should esteem Him stricken, smitten and afflicted, yet see Him as our Creator and King in awe, wonder, and fear with righteousness and amazement. How can we even be allowed to have a glimpse of His beauty, compassion, and grace?

Critique Epithetical Books The Attributes of God: A Journey Into the Father's Heart (The Attributes of God #1)
What a powerful, cleansing read after the last book. Not sure I have words...

One thing you can be certain of with A. W. Tozer, he is honest and says it exactly as he sees it. This is a book that is meant to draw the reader into a deeper understanding of God. It does it very well. Tozer's desire to walk closely with the Savior and draw others to Him is evident in everything that he writes. This book does not disappoint.

A.W. Tozer's The Attributes of God has been on my shelf for years. It is probably one of the first Tozer books I ever bought. However, it has remained unread for years. Even after discovering Knowledge of the Holy, a book that I loved, loved, loved. The first few attempts, for better or worse, I found a bit intimidating. The timing just wasn't right. But it was right this time. It was JUST RIGHT. The Attributes of God turned out to be an amazing--absolutely amazing--read for me. Tozer's

I enjoyed this Tozer book, it is very similar in nature to "Knowledge of the Holy" which is also a good one. Tozer discusses ten attributes of God: infinitude, immensity, goodness, justice, mercy, grace, omnipresence, immanence, holiness, and perfection.Something that I've always liked about Tozer is that he takes an extensive and complex topic and explains it so well in simple terms; the everyday vernacular that the average high school educated layman can understand.Tozer has given me much to

The man who has real faith rather than nominal faith has found a right answer to the question, 'What is God like?'

Really great book. It's very cohesive, given the fact that it was cobbled together from the sermons of Tozer. It's definitely dated (e.g. he refers a few times to "cowboy Christianity" which must've been a reference to a church trend in the 50's..), but the wisdom contained herein is timeless. His central premise, which is established early and then built upon, is that our faith (both personal and communal) is determined by our concept of God. Small, limited concept of God - small, limited faith.
