Narration To Books Close to Home (DI Adam Fawley #1)
They know who did it. Perhaps not consciously. Perhaps not yet. But they know. When eight-year-old Daisy Mason vanishes from her family’s Oxford home during a costume party, Detective Inspector Adam Fawley knows that nine times out of ten, the offender is someone close to home. And Daisy’s family is certainly strange—her mother is obsessed with keeping up appearances, while her father is cold and defensive under questioning. And then there’s Daisy’s little brother, so withdrawn and uncommunicative . . .
DI Fawley works against the clock to find any trace of the little girl, but it’s as if she disappeared into thin air—no one saw anything; no one knows anything. But everyone has an opinion, and everyone, it seems, has a secret to conceal.

Im going to say this now, before we get started. You wont like it, but trust me, Ive done this more times than I care to punish myself remembering. In a case like this - a kid - nine times out of ten its someone close to home. Close to Home is a good start to a new police procedural series. The characters are complex, strong and well-portrayed - some might even say unlikable. The mystery here is certainly intriguing with an 8 year old who goes missing at a family BBQ, although it takes hoursClose to Home is the first in a new series yay, a series that I can follow from the beginning and not have to play catch up with and I will certainly will be following this one!Eight year old Daisy Mason has disappeared during an evening BBQ at the family home in Oxford. When DI Adam Fawley arrives during the night to take statements and to begin the investigation, my hackles were raised immediately not with him but with the mother when she asks him to take his shoes off before stepping
For a debut novel I have to say that I am very impressed. This is book 1 in the DI Adam Fawley series and I look forward to reading more. During an evening barbecue it appears 8 year old Daisy Mason vanishes into thin air. Even her own parents can't recall the last time they saw her that evening. Now DI Adam Fawley and his team need to put the puzzle pieces together in order to save Daisy before it's too late. In interviewing the parents DI Fawley can't help but to wonder what they may be
I received a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.Close To Home follows Detective Inspector Adam Fawley and his search for missing 8 year old Daisy. As is often the case, the kidnapper may be closer to home than everyone thinks, and Adam is tasked with finding out who lying.Adam Fawley is a dynamic leading man. He's charismatic, likable and obviously good at his job. I liked that. Too many times in novels like this we see police officers who are so incompetent its a miracle they
I have wanted to get my hands on a book by Cara Hunter for so long now its not funny, so i thought i would take a punt & read Close To Home (DI Adam Fawley) i have just finished it and i must say what a start to a new series for me, the subject was dark & gritty with a bit of Psychological suspese. I could not stop turning the pages, the prose got me in & i just could not stoponly to get sleep.Barry Mason & his family wife Sharon & children Daisy & leo were living a good
This was epic! The ultimate merging of domestic noir, psychological suspense, and police procedural!Barry and Sharon Mason host a summer barbecue for friends and neighbours. When the party ends their eight year-old daughter, Daisy, is nowhere to be found. From the moment DI Adam Fawley arrives on the scene, the lack of emotion, and odd behaviour of both parents strikes him as odd. And as he soon discovers thats only the beginning. Wow, the characters in this book couldnt have possibly had any
