Cat in the Hat is a fun frillick with an antsy cat in a ridiculous hat. The rhyme and meter is uniquely Zeuss, and plays with language like a cat plays with a ball of string. Great book for bedtime story...children love the rhyming words.
This book is a poem and many kids find it humorous. The illustrations are amusing and are part of the story line, they help the story. Most love this book because of the adventures that the Cat brings to the brother and sister. He destroys the house, but he brings the siblings together. It is a fun way to introduce poems and rhythm.
The Cat in the Hat is a wonderful book and I think all children should read it. Everything by Dr. Seuss is so fantastic and creative. And I think it will open the minds of children or anyone really to explore their own creativity.
This was a book that always made me want to reach through the pages and literally strangle the Cat in the Hat. Dr. Seuss gave us a great little story about all the trouble two children with nothing to do can get into.
