A collector of Asian art and artifacts is murdered with one of his own swords by a rival, who tries to pin it on the victim's unhappily married wife with a sprig of mistletoe.Betsy and Smythe have had their first child, Amanda Belle, named after Mrs. Goodge and Luty Belle Crookshanks. The two older women at the child's godparents, along with Inspector Witherspoon. It is endearing how the Inspector worries throughout the story about purchasing her a Christmas present.I do love how the Inspector'sThis is a hard one for me to rate, I enjoyed the beginning of this book, but the middle was long and boring, but the ending ruined it for me. The writing was repetitive, which was tiresome. I didnt like how everyone treated the inspector like an idiot and worked behind his back. And the resolution was rushed and amateur. I dont think Ill read more in this series.
This one kept me guessing until fairly close to the end!

Perhaps a 3.5 rating would be more appropriate.The suspects in this book were not as developed as in Emily Brightwell's other book. The story line was OK but a bit confusing because brothers were involved and it was difficult to follow the train of thought of the police and their helpers.
