This is the exact kind of book I love to read for pure enjoyment. I absolutely loved it from beginning to end. I picked up this book hoping to like it, hoping for a historically fresh take on the witch trials we all know so much about. Maybe I was looking for some romance, something wistful and whimsical in the same way that DESTINED gives a unique twist to the sinking of Titanic. What I was not looking for was a violent, disgusting portrayal of sex abuse.The character that was so descriptively violated was a young teen, a character that was presented as nearly angelic. I thought this book was absolutely amazing. I won it in a contest I entered on this website. I could not put it down. the book had everything in it from suspense.. romance... magic... you name it. I didn't like the ending... not because it wasn't good.. just because I couldn't stand not knowing was was gonna happen next.
