Description Supposing Books The Chemical Garden Series (The Chemical Garden #1-3)
Lauren DeStefano’s complete, breathtaking, dystopian romance series, The Chemical Garden Trilogy.
This bundle includes Wither, Fever, and Sever.
WITHER: What if you knew exactly when you would die?
Thanks to modern science, every human being has become a ticking genetic time bomb – males only live to age twenty-five and females only live to age twenty. In this bleak landscape, young girls are kidnapped and forced into polygamous marriages to keep the population from dying out…
16-year-old Rhine Ellery is kidnapped and sold as a bride to Linden, a rich young man with a dying wife. Even though he is kind to her, Rhine is desperate to escape her gilded cage. With the help of Gabriel, a servant she is growing dangerously attracted to, Rhine attempts to break free, in what little time she has left.
FEVER: Running away brings Rhine and Gabriel right into a trap, in the form of a twisted carnival whose ringmistress keeps watch over a menagerie of girls. Just as Rhine uncovers what plans await her, her fortune turns again. With Gabriel at her side, Rhine travels through an environment as grim as the one she left a year ago – surroundings that mirror her own feelings of fear and hopelessness.
SEVER: Time is running out for Rhine.
With less than three years left until the virus claims her life, Rhine is desperate for answers. Having escaped torment at Vaughn’s mansion, she finds respite in the dilapidated home of her husband’s uncle, an eccentric inventor who hates Vaughn almost as much as Rhine does.

The strongest suit of this series is the authors vivid and lyrical writing, the dystopian world itself is only moderately developed and still doesnt make sense. Most of the characters come and go pretty quickly but due to the writing they still make an impact and you understand them vividly in a shorter period of time. Despite the weak points in the world, this is one of the more feminist-hearted and beautifully written dystopians Ive read and I read it at a time when I really needed somewhereReally great dystopian novels. The trilogy was really exciting and had a great romance to it. Her writing is beautiful.

You know when you're writing a timed essay and your ideas start off really, really good? And then once the proctor announces that there's 15 minutes left and you still have 3 of 5 paragraphs left to write, you start getting your half-baked ideas down as quickly and sloppily as possible? This is what happened to this series.

The average for all three books. I read all three separately, but since it's been a while and I can barely remember the specifics, I will go at it all at once. I thought the series started off really well! 3.5-4 stars, it was fascinating and I was thinking, I finally found a young adult future dystopian novel that seems unique and well-written. The premise was interesting to me and I was really engrossed in it. The second book was unnecessary. It was like a bridge between the first and third,
Great series
